Zoe Saldana is the child of Asalia Saldana and Aridio Nazario. She was born in Passaic (New Jersey) on 19th June 1978. Her parents, Aridio and Asalia are both Puerto Ricans. She was born in Queens. As she reached the age of 10 years old, she and her parents relocated to the Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. While living there, Zoe discovered a keen passion for performance dancing and started her studies at the highly regarded ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy in which she was taught ballet, as well as various different dance styles.
