Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. She was born and raised in California USA she started her modeling career in Italy. In 1996 she debuted as an actor in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The struggle she had to get the role on Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was extremely intense. At first, it was difficult for her switching from modeling to acting. It's because the majority of models aren't great actors. They are typically assigned small and insignificant parts. Amy never gave up. Her first role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. She then ventured into the main roles for the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major box office success and Amy was finally able to get the success she'd been trying for for more than a decade. She went on doing some significant films like the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she was a well loved recurring character.
